Every Thursday, our Tamil seniors gather at the Strathfield Community Centre to connect, reminisce, and celebrate their heritage. These weekly sessions offer a vibrant mix of activities, including musical programs (Isai Arangam), educational workshops by external speakers (Iyal Arangam), games involving music (Padukupp Paadu) and skills (carrom, bridge, scrabble etc.), along with creative craft classes in knitting, patchwork, and handicrafts for the ladies, and outdoor games suitable for all. It’s a warm and welcoming space to nurture friendships, skills, and our Tamil culture.

Physical Exercise Sessions

Regular exercise is vital for seniors, promoting physical health, mental well-being, and overall quality of life. To support this, Physical Exercise Sessions are held every Monday morning via Google Meet, allowing members to participate from the comfort of their homes. These sessions provide an excellent opportunity to stay active, improve mobility, and connect with others.

Monthly

Members’ Day

The fourth Thursday of each month, ‘Members’ Day’, features enlightening talks and educational workshops led by professionals and community members. Covering topics like health, social issues, migration, and literature, these sessions are designed to empower members in all aspects of life. The day concludes with a delightful fellowship lunch, fostering connection and camaraderie.

Annual

Seniors’ Week

Seniors’ Week is another opportunity to bring our community together, filled with indoor games and friendly competitions among members. The festivities are graced by Members of Parliament, Mayors from local councils, and other distinguished Guests. Adding vibrancy to the celebrations is a lively ten-ten softball cricket match, featuring the enthusiastic participation of a few lady members.
